Fishing & Fun in the Park is back!

Fishing & Fun in the Park will take place Saturday, September 10th in the Little Lehigh Parkway, 1600 Park Drive, Allentown between 10 am and 4 pm. The event is a one-of-a-kind community fishing event held in partnership with the City of Allentown Parks and Recreation Department.

“Fishing in the Park” is free, accessible, and open to anyone in the community. It was created through a partnership with LVCIL and the Allentown Parks and Recreation Department as a way for people with disabilities to get outside and experience the great outdoors. In previous years, more than 1,000 people attended our free community fishing event, and we expect to match or double that number for this year, particularly since COVID-19 has cancelled many in-person events over the past two years. This year, The Lehigh County Fish & Game Protective Services will be stocking more than 300 donated fish in the Little Lehigh Creek for this event. The best part is that no fishing license is required, and we have many donated fishing poles to lend to inexperienced anglers and will have volunteers demonstrating how to cast lines. Once again, we are expecting a wide range of diverse vendors, many fun-filled children’s activities, including demonstrations from the city’s EMS, police, fire, and recycling services. The event brings the whole community together!
